STATEMENT ON TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S EXECUTIVE ORDERS ON IMMIGRATION

(New York, NY) – Sharen Duke, Founder and Executive Director of the Alliance for Positive Change, released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s executive orders on immigration:

"At The Alliance for Positive Change, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.

In the wake of the executive orders issued by the new administration to ban entry of refugees and immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries; directing the construction of a menacing border wall; and threatening to withhold federal funding from our own sanctuary city and others, The Alliance for Positive Change reaffirms our commitment to serve all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status.

Our organization has grown and thrived largely through the hard work and steadfast commitment of our ethnically and culturally diverse staff, peers, and clients. We will continue to be an open, safe space, and resource for all New Yorkers.

At the Alliance, we stand together with our fellow New Yorkers, sister organizations, and our city and state governments in condemning discriminatory policies and embracing all New Yorkers.”
