Volunteering at The Alliance

We are so grateful you thought of us! We are always looking for talented and passionate volunteers and interns to help improve the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Rosie Whiteside at: rosie2@alliance.nyc.

The following are different ways we get people involved:

Short term volunteer opportunities. These include evening events or one time events though-out the year with no long term commitments. This includes things like working in the garden, gift wrapping, preparations for events, compiling safer sex kits, etc.

Long term volunteer opportunities. These opportunities require a longer term time commitment. This includes things like administrative help, data entry, event planning, etc.

Project based opportunities. These opportunities are based around the talent, project, and/or skills of the volunteer on a case-by-case basis. Some project based opportunities will be posted below, but please reach out to us if you have a skill you would like to share and don’t see it posted. This includes things like: yoga classes, leading support groups, job readiness classes, IT needs, event planning, etc.

Internship type opportunities. These opportunities require a commitment of a fixed amount of time (either hours/months/etc.). Internships are given on a case-by-case basis and are unpaid. We have an ongoing need for interns in our Intake department and have placed interns in our Outreach and Development departments. Please click here to view our internship opportunities.
