The Phil Zwickler Memorial Poetry Page celebrates the creative spirit in us all by showcasing a poem by a participant in the AIDS Service Center NYC Creative Writing Workshop, which began in 2000. Every other month, a poem by a different ASCNYC poet will appear here.
This page is named in honor of Phil Zwickler, a journalist, filmmaker, poet, and gay activist who produced a prolific body of work in the few short years before his death from AIDS in 1991. To learn more about the remarkable and influential life of Phil Zwickler—and the legacy he left behind—we encourage you to visit the website of the Phil Zwickler Charitable and Memorial Foundation.
